During my senior year of high school, I was able to participate in the Rochester chapter of a program called ACE (architecture, construction, engineering). This program pairs teams of students interested in the field with professional mentors from surrounding firms in the area, to learn more about the industry and get a hands on learning experience.
Project Statement:
To work in student mentor teams to design and construct a 4 x 6 x 6 foot playhouse to be auctioned off at the Rochester Home and Garden Show, or donated to The Golisano Children's Hospital. The teams must then design a potential residential building relating to the theme of the playhouse, and prepare boards plus a presentation to deliver at the student capstone event held at the Strathallan Hotel.
