Proposing a new memory care complex in Rochester, New York, that reclaims a sense of normalcy for residents and provides for a historically underserved, at risk community.

Operating on the core principles of nostalgia, neighborhood interaction, intergenerationality, and autonomy, this complex is more than just a facility— it is a multi-modal intervention that addresses the progression of dementia via environmental factors, while also serving as a community asset.

Project Statement:

To work through a year long thesis project addressing a pressing issue through intensive research, design processes, and a thoughtful architectural intervention. Currently still in progress, this project will come to fruition in the May 2023.
