Observing ancient ruins on the coast of Sorrento.

Project Statement:

To visit and observe an archaeological site plus an adjacent empty plot of land to propose a new visitor center for the ruins. The project is research oriented, and explores site appropriate building technologies, as well as comprehensive environmental, mechanical, and structural components. A heavy emphasis on sketching and generative idea exploration was placed on this project, as well as a historical lens. While the project was fully completed in multiple design phases, the core of it-- principle research and key design iterations, are presented below, beginning with precedent studies, and ending with applied site specific technologies [see powerpoint presentation for precedent analysis].
